KeyWhen you face challenges and unknowns, it can be unnerving. Anxiety can set in. Your comfort zone is stretched. Equilibrium is threatened. If you are in this place now, remember the 3 key anchor points that will calm anxiety, help stretch your comfort zone, and restore equilibrium. Anchor points are the stabilizers on a life issue that you can grab onto and then address the issue in a positive manner. These anchor points are key to living successfully. As stabilizers, they increase your ability to manage issues – to manage your whole life. Let’s look.

The 3 Key Anchor Points in every life issue are:

  1. Trust – trust God. (Prov. 3:5-6)
  2. Obey – obey God. (Jn. 14:15)
  3. Rest – rest in God. (Heb. 4:9-10)

 HOW? There are things that happen underneath inside you when you trust, obey, and rest. Here is what happens:

When you choose to trust God . . . .

you exercise faith in the safest, strongest Person that exists.

When you resolve to obey God . . . .

you practice surrender for a better way than your own.

When you choose to rest in God . . . .

you pick up the peace Jesus promised (Jn. 14:27).

(This kind of rest is 24/7! 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.)

Living this way by grabbing onto these stabilizers is hard work. It involves both risk and resolve. However, if you are thinking clearly, you will see this is the safest risk you can take with your life, and it is the best kind of resolve you can apply your will to. While you are busy doing the work of trusting, obeying, and resting, remember what God is busy doing: “Before they call, I will answer. While they are still speaking, I will hear.” (Is. 65:24) Every time you even lean toward God in these ways, God leaps into action. God will honor your decision to grab these 3 life anchor points!

In matters of trusting, obeying, and resting:

  • Do not dabble. PLUNGE!
  • Do not sluff-off. TRAIN!
  • Do not remain a novice. Become PRACTICED!
